The Ebbsfleet Development Corporation has been set up by Government to bring forward the first new Garden City for 100 years. We are now looking to appoint a dynamic, creative and self-motivated urban designer with expertise in landscape architecture to support the design and place-making agenda of the new Garden City.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the thinking, planning, design and delivery of a new city from an early stage, working across scales and sectors to promote, research and disseminate best practice design advice. The successful candidate will work on an exciting portfolio of design briefs, design proposals, feasibility studies and planning permissions, as well as preparing graphics, maps, presentations and reports to support the work of EDC, and disseminate the learning from the Garden City and Ebbsfleet Healthy New Town programmes.
To apply for this role you will need to be an urban designer, preferably with a degree in landscape architecture or equivalent, and have strong experience of contributing to the delivery of projects across RIBA stages 0-7. You will also have demonstrable knowledge of best practice in urban design and the principles of development, as well as excellent drawing and mapping skills and the ability to interpret drawings and technical information. You will be highly numerate and computer literate and have exceptional verbal and written skills.
